What the Beckman DxC 700 AU does for a mid- to high-volume lab

Beckman built the DxC 700 AU by putting the operating design of its DxC line on top of AU chemistry. It measures by spectrophotometry and indirect ISE on serum, plasma, urine, whole blood for HbA1c and other fluids, and Beckman says its interface cuts the number of test-processing steps by 30%.

Throughput and menu. Up to 800 photometric tests an hour, or 1,200 with ISE, with 63 assays on board on ISE units. The ISE handles up to 200 samples an hour, or up to 600 tests an hour in ISE-only mode. Open channels let you add applications of your own.

Sample handling. The rack feeder holds 150 samples in barcoded racks of ten and loads continuously. A refrigerated STAT carousel holds 22 more, for STAT samples, calibrators and QC. Each test uses 1 to 25 µL of sample in 0.1 µL steps.

Reagents on the fly. Load reagents while the analyzer is in measure mode, so a bottle change doesn't stop the run.

HbA1c on the chemistry line. Beckman's HbA1c Advanced assay runs on whole blood with total precision of 2% CV or better.

Less downtime. Common parts such as probes, mixers and syringes come out in three steps or fewer and under 60 seconds, without tools. Clot detection clears blocked aspirations automatically, and STAT samples interrupt the routine queue with automatic repeat testing.

A current workstation. The DxC 700 AU runs Windows 10. Microsoft ended Windows 7 support in 2020, which matters if your IT team audits lab instruments.

Run the DxC 700 AU standalone or on your automation line

The DxC 700 AU analyzer is available in two sample-input versions, each with or without ISE.

Rack feeder version. Load samples through the 150-sample rack feeder and the refrigerated STAT carousel.

Direct track sampling (DTS) version. Sample straight from a Beckman automation track, with no rack feeder and no reracking. Labs on pre-analytical automation, or linking chemistry with an immunoassay analyzer, use this version.

Both versions run the same assays, reagents and software, and connect to your LIS and Beckman middleware.

Tell us whether your DxC 700 AU will run standalone or on a track, and we'll match you to the right unit.

Which labs buy a refurbished Beckman DxC 700 AU analyzer?

The DxC 700 AU chemistry analyzer is sized for mid- to large-sized hospitals and labs that need up to 1,200 chemistry results an hour from one analyzer.

Hospital core labs. Run routine chemistry, electrolytes and HbA1c on one analyzer, with STAT samples interrupting the queue.

Labs replacing an AU680. Keep your AU reagents, test menu and reference ranges, and move to Windows 10, reagent loading mid-run and quicker part swaps. Pricing a refurbished AU680 as well? We can quote both.

Labs on Beckman automation. Put a DTS unit on the track, alongside your immunoassay analyzer and pre-analytical automation.

Health systems standardizing on AU chemistry. Match reagents and reference ranges with the AU analyzers at your other sites.

Labs that want a current analyzer without new-analyzer pricing. Get the same platform Beckman sells today for up to 70% less.

DxC 700 AU with ISE or without

The ISE module adds sodium, potassium and chloride and raises the analyzer's ceiling from 800 to 1,200 tests an hour. The rest of the analyzer is identical.

DxC 700 AU. Up to 800 photometric tests an hour, for labs that run electrolytes on a blood gas or standalone electrolyte analyzer.

DxC 700 AU with ISE. Up to 1,200 tests an hour and 63 assays on board, with ISEs rated for long onboard life and replaced one electrode at a time.

DxC 700 AU or AU680?

Both run the same number of photometric tests an hour, with the same number of assays on board and the same AU reagents. The DxC 700 AU loads reagents while it measures, runs on Windows 10 and takes 30% fewer steps to process tests. The AU680 costs less to buy refurbished, so it suits labs that want the throughput without the newer workflow.

Site planning for the DxC 700 AU: floor space, power, water and drain

The DxC 700 AU analyzer measures 125 cm (49.2 in) wide, 89 cm (35 in) deep and 130 cm (51.2 in) tall, and weighs about 460 kg (1,015 lb). On the rack feeder version, the rack feeder sits alongside it as a second unit, about 73 cm (29 in) wide, 104 cm (41 in) deep and 94 cm (37 in) tall, at 165 kg (363 lb). Add service clearance around both before you mark out the floor.

  • Power. Supply 200 to 240 V.
  • Water. Plumb deionized water, CAP Type II and bacteria-free. Mean consumption is about 28 L an hour.
  • Drain. Run a drain to the analyzer location for liquid waste.
  • LIS and automation. Connect to your LIS and Beckman middleware, or to the automation track on DTS units.

Beckman DxC 700 AU price: refurbished compared with new

A refurbished Beckman Coulter DxC 700 AU chemistry analyzer from Diamond Diagnostics costs up to 70% less than buying new, and you own it. We quote each unit individually, because configuration, sample input version and services vary.

Questions to ask about a pre-owned DxC 700 AU

  • Is it the rack feeder or the DTS version, and does it have the ISE module?
  • When was it built, and what software version does it run?
  • Can the seller document decontamination?
  • Which probes, syringes, mixers, seals and tubing were replaced?
  • Can you see current calibration and multi-level QC results?
  • Who installs it, programs your assays and verifies them?
  • Who services it afterward, and does it come with a warranty?

Every refurbished DxC 700 AU from our team is decontaminated, rebuilt with new wear parts, calibrated and validated with multi-level QC before it leaves our facility, then installed and verified in your lab by our engineers.

What goes into the price of a refurbished DxC 700 AU

  • Rack feeder or DTS version.
  • Whether it has the ISE module.
  • Installation, assay programming and verification.
  • Operator training.
  • The service plan you choose.
  • Freight to your site.
  • Credit for the analyzer you trade in.

Why buy a refurbished DxC 700 AU instead of new?

A capital request your committee can approve. Up to 70% less than new for the same platform.
Ownership without a reagent contract. The analyzer is yours, and the cost isn’t sky high when you don’t include a reagent contract.
The same AU results. It runs the same Beckman AU reagents and applications as a new unit.
Less waste. A rebuilt analyzer uses less energy and raw material than manufacturing a new one, so it fits with your corporate social responsibility KPIs.

Why buy your DxC 700 AU from Diamond Diagnostics?

We take each DxC 700 AU to the frame, validate it on QC, install it in your lab and back it with our own field engineers.

Documented under FDA registration and ISO 13485:2016

Diamond is FDA-registered, and our US and EU operations hold ISO 9001:2015 and ISO 13485:2016 certification. ISO 13485 sets the quality management requirements for medical device manufacturers, so your rebuild follows written procedures that outside auditors check.

Installed, verified and handed over to your operators

Our engineers install the DxC 700 AU, program your assays and verify them before your first patient sample. Your operators then train with us on site, covering daily operation, test parameters, maintenance and first-line troubleshooting.

Finance your DxC 700 AU from $0 down

  • Lease or finance purchases up to $2 million.
  • Get approved for up to $400,000 on an application alone.
  • Put $0 down and start with low introductory payments.
