How the Beckman AU2700 handles high-volume chemistry
The AU2700 measures by spectrophotometry, turbidimetry and, on ISE units, indirect potentiometry. It runs serum, urine, cerebrospinal fluid and other body fluids, with 48 photometric tests and three electrolytes processed at the same time.
A 300-sample loader for long runs. The rack loader holds 300 samples and samples directly from 3, 5, 7 and 10 mL primary tubes and pediatric cups, reading mixed barcode types. Reflex tests, reruns and pre-dilution of urine and other specimens run without operator steps.
STAT samples. A 22-sample STAT carousel interrupts the routine queue, and a basic metabolic panel reports within five minutes.
96 open reagent positions. The AU2700 holds 48 first-reagent and 48 second-reagent positions, and all accept third-party reagents to save you budget. Liquid, ready-to-use reagents come in cartridges sized from 100 to more than 6,000 tests, and inventory tracking forecasts what each day's workload will use.
Low reagent use per test. Reaction volumes go as low as 120 µL, read through permanent glass cuvettes, with no sample or reagent tips to buy.
Accurate pipetting. Liquid level detection on both samples and reagents confirms each aspiration.
Searchable results and automation links. Look up results by sample or by test across up to 60,000 patient files, and connect the analyzer to lab automation.
